This distinctive notch in the heel (the ‘tunnel’) deforms as the heel hits the ground and spreads the pressure over a larger surface area. What is unique about this system is that the wearer’s weight has no effect on the function.
The built-in shock absorber spares the joints and keeps the wearer upright. Spreading the load also gives the heel extra stability. This prevents fatigue and loss of concentration and hence avoids a great number of accidents.
